Happiness… When It Is Tied to Meaning, Not People
Morning Reflection:
Tie your life to a purpose… not to what changes. People may leave, and things may fade, but a purpose gives you direction without making you lose yourself.
Evening Reflection:
We often attach our happiness to people we love or to things we desire, placing our inner stability in what lies beyond our control. Yet the truth many overlook is that everything external is subject to change, absence, or loss.
When we build our happiness on others, we become vulnerable to fluctuations. Their presence brings us joy, but their absence may leave us empty. The same applies to material things—they offer temporary satisfaction, but it never lasts.
But when we anchor our lives to a purpose, we gain something deeper and more enduring. A purpose gives meaning, making every step valuable and every struggle worthwhile. It is what keeps a person grounded, even in the absence of what they love.
A purpose does not eliminate sadness, but it prevents us from feeling lost. It does not remove pain, but it gives it direction. It allows us to continue—not because we are unaffected, but because we know why we move forward.
In the end, true happiness does not come from what we possess…
but from what we strive for, and believe is worth the journey.
