The Violence You Cannot See

Morning Reflection

Soft violence does not bind you with chains; it deceives you with choices. It grants you the illusion of decision while decorating what was designed to attract you. You appear free… while walking through corridors prepared in advance, all leading to the same door.

Evening Reflection

In the stillness of evening, I realize that the most dangerous form of violence is the one that never announces itself. It does not shout, threaten, or impose. It smiles and says, “Choose whatever you like,” while quietly determining what will seem desirable to you.

Overt coercion awakens resistance; visible chains provoke dignity. But invisible chains numb awareness. You move forward believing you are in control, while the options have been carefully arranged to guide you toward the same outcome: more consumption, quieter compliance, and a gradual erosion of identity.

The danger is not in being forced, but in being enticed. To be led without sensing the guidance. To smile as you step into the cage, because its walls are made of polished glass rather than cold iron.

Wisdom does not lie in distrusting everything, but in daring to ask the difficult question: Is this truly my choice—or an echo of a desire crafted for me? True liberation begins the moment we see the chains—even when they are transparent.
