When Greed Makes You Lose What You Have

Morning Reflection:
Do not let go of what you have out of greed for what may never come… what is in your hands is better than what you cannot guarantee.

Evening Reflection:
This story tells of a hungry lion—not lacking food, but lacking appreciation for what he already had. He caught a small rabbit, enough to ease his hunger, yet he was not satisfied. His eyes wandered to something bigger, something seemingly better, and he chose to chase it.

He abandoned what he had in pursuit of what he could not guarantee… and ended up losing both.

This is often how life unfolds. We do not lose because we lack things, but because we fail to value what we have. We let go of present opportunities while chasing distant possibilities that may never materialize.

Greed is not always about money—it is the constant desire for more, without awareness of the value of what already exists. When it takes over, it clouds judgment, pushing us to risk what we hold for illusions that may never come true.

Wisdom is not in having everything, but in knowing when enough is enough. In recognizing that small opportunities may carry great value, and that what seems simple may, in fact, be sufficient.

In the end, not everything that shines is worth leaving what you have… sometimes what is in your hands is your salvation, and what lies ahead is nothing but a mirage.
