Don’t Dwell on the Closed Door
Morning Reflection:
When one door closes… don’t stand before it for too long. Another door has opened for you—it is just waiting for you to notice it.
Evening Reflection:
In moments of loss or disappointment, our gaze often lingers on what has been closed to us. We replay it, imagine what could have been, and weigh our hearts down with regret. We stare at the closed door as if it were the end, forgetting that life does not stop at a single doorway.
Life, by its nature, is in constant motion—it closes to open, takes to give. The problem is not in the doors that close, but in our eyes remaining fixed upon them, unable to see what has opened in their place.
Sometimes, the new door is not immediately clear. It requires us to move, to loosen our grip on the past, and to give ourselves a chance to see with clarity. Opportunities do not disappear… but they can be lost in the noise of longing.
Regret does not open doors; in fact, it may close others if we hold onto it too long. Acceptance, however, allows us to turn, to look again, and to discover what we could not see before.
In the end, not every closed door is a loss… some doors close only to lead us to a path we would never have chosen, yet one that was waiting for us all along.
