Know Your Sky
Morning Reflection
No one flies in a vacuum.
Every person has a sky—visible or hidden—carried within.
It may be a dream pursued,
an anxiety that follows,
or a love that never fully came to rest.
Before you take flight, ask yourself:
What sky am I flying in?
And where did I come from?
Evening Reflection
In the quiet of evening, after forty years of flight, I have come to understand that the sky is not merely the space above us, but a condition within us. Every person flies within their own sky—even if they never leave the ground. Some soar in the sky of ambition, others in the sky of fear, and still others in the sky of memories that have yet to land.
In my early days, I believed that knowing the maps was enough—that reading directions guaranteed arrival. But I learned that the most dangerous ignorance for a pilot is not losing position in the air, but losing position within himself. If you do not know your inner sky, you may fly for years in the wrong direction while believing you are getting closer.
The sky you carry inside determines how you fly. If it is filled with noise, you will seek validation. If it is heavy with fear, you will avoid altitude. If it is born of sincere passion, you will find your way—even through storms. The most important question is not “Where am I flying?” but “Why am I flying?”
After years in the air, I realized that true beginnings do not start from the runway, but from awareness. Know your sky before you seek the horizon. For the one who understands the source of their flight also knows when to rise, when to descend, and when to return to themselves in peace.
